Founded in the 3rd century B.C., Anuradhapura was a Ceylonese political and religious capital that flourished for 1,300 years and was abandoned after an invasion in 993. Hidden away in dense jungle for many years, the splendid site, with its palaces, monasteries and monuments, is now accessible once again. I was strongly surprised by the great amount of local people from another parts of the country that visit this archeological complex. In this pic we can see a cingalese family visiting “Kuttam Pokuna” named also ”Twin Ponds”.
